Pandavani legend Teejan Bai dies at 70 after prolonged illness

Renowned Pandavani folk singer Teejan Bai, a Padma Vibhushan awardee, passed away at 70 in Raipur after a prolonged illness. Hailing from Chhattisgarh, she was celebrated for her powerful renditions of Mahabharata tales, elevating the traditional art form to global recognition. Her impactful performances and dedication to folk arts earned her India's highest civilian honours. She had been receiving treatment at AIIMS Raipur since late May.
