Second batch of 3,865 pilgrims depart for Amarnath shrine amid strict registration checks
Over 3,800 registered pilgrims begin Amarnath Yatra journey as authorities enforce registration protocols.
The second contingent of 3,865 registered pilgrims has begun their expedition to the holy Shri Amarnath Ji shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. The group departed from Jammu amid tight security arrangements and administrative oversight to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience.
Authorities have implemented stringent verification measures, permitting only those with prior registration to undertake the journey at this time. Officials have cautioned the thousands of unregistered pilgrims who have arrived without completing the registration process that they must wait for their designated travel slots. The administration has made it clear that tatkal or last-minute registration options are extremely limited, necessitating advance planning and documentation.
The pilgrimage route this year operates through two major pathways: the Baltal route and the Pahalgam route. Both corridors have been equipped with dedicated security personnel and escort teams to monitor pilgrim movement and address any emergencies during the trek. These precautions aim to manage the large volume of devotees while maintaining order and safety across the challenging mountainous terrain.
The Amarnath Yatra, one of India's most significant religious expeditions, attracts hundreds of thousands of devotees annually. The registration system helps authorities manage crowd flow, ensure adequate provisions, and coordinate rescue operations in case of medical emergencies or adverse weather conditions. Proper documentation also enables better tracking of pilgrims and enhances overall incident response capabilities.
Pilgrims are advised to check official channels for their assigned batch dates and complete all documentation before traveling. The shrine administration emphasizes that compliance with registration requirements is essential for the safety and orderly conduct of the entire pilgrimage.
