Centre designates Ram temple operative, Saeed's son-in-law as terrorist

The Union government has formally added a close associate of designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed to its list of designated terrorists, citing his involvement in reconnaissance operations targeting critical Indian installations and facilitating militant infiltration networks.

The individual conducted detailed surveillance of the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh headquarters in Nagpur, and the Indian Oil refinery facility in Panipat. According to security agencies, he served in a command capacity for operations in the Lasiyakot sector and played an active role in enabling infiltration routes through underground tunnels. Officials also hold him responsible for coordinating drone-based deliveries of weapons and ammunition across the Indian border.

This move reflects the government's ongoing efforts to dismantle cross-border terror networks and prevent reconnaissance activities targeting strategic civilian and institutional facilities. The designation follows repeated intelligence assessments linking the individual to coordinated infiltration attempts and arms smuggling operations.
