RSS demands strict action in Ayodhya Ram Temple donation embezzlement case

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has voiced serious concerns over alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, demanding that authorities pursue stringent action against those responsible for the financial irregularities.

RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale articulated the organisation's position on the controversy, stating that the RSS feels both pained and angered by the alleged misuse of funds meant for the sacred temple. Hosabale called upon law enforcement agencies to ensure that the culprits face appropriate legal consequences. He also appealed to the Hindu community to remain watchful and cautious, warning against those who may attempt to exploit the incident to tarnish the reputation of Hindu institutions and believers.

The RSS leadership has acknowledged the decision to establish a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine the allegations surrounding the temple's finances. While welcoming this investigative step, Hosabale emphasised the critical importance of maintaining transparent and accountable administration across all temple operations. He stressed that such transparency is essential to preserve the faith and confidence that millions of devotees place in religious institutions.

The embezzlement allegations have raised significant questions about financial governance at one of India's most prominent Hindu temples. The incident comes at a time when the newly consecrated Ram Temple in Ayodhya has attracted substantial public donations and contributions from devotees across the country. Hosabale's statement underscores the RSS's commitment to ensuring that donated funds are used appropriately and in accordance with the wishes of donors.

The organisation's intervention reflects broader concerns within Hindu religious communities about maintaining institutional integrity and public trust. By demanding accountability and supporting the SIT investigation, the RSS has signalled its commitment to upholding ethical standards in temple management. The case is likely to prompt broader discussions about financial oversight mechanisms in major religious institutions across India and the need for stronger governance frameworks to prevent future instances of misappropriation.
