Five Arrested After Kidnapped Infant Rescued In Hyderabad Child Trafficking Case
Police rescue baby sold for Rs 1.5 lakh; five suspects arrested in major trafficking bust.

A dramatic rescue operation in Hyderabad has led to the apprehension of five individuals involved in a shocking child trafficking network. The infant, who had been kidnapped and sold for Rs 1.5 lakh, was recovered by law enforcement officers following an intensive investigation.
Authorities arrested Mohammed Zuber from Vikarabad and Mohammed Irfan, an autorickshaw driver with a history of theft cases, as primary suspects in orchestrating the kidnapping. Irfan's previous criminal record made him a key person of interest in the case. Three additional accomplices were also taken into custody as the investigation expanded, revealing a coordinated operation to traffic the child.
Police believe the gang operated a systematic network targeting infants for illegal adoption or sale. The relatively low ransom amount suggests the perpetrators were connected to a larger trafficking syndicate with established buyers. Such cases highlight the underground adoption black market that continues to operate across Indian states.
The rescue underscores the vulnerability of young children and the criminal networks that exploit families in distress. Authorities have intensified efforts to track similar cases and dismantle trafficking routes across Telangana and neighboring regions. The recovered child has been handed over to welfare authorities for proper medical evaluation and care.
This case adds to growing concerns over organized child trafficking in south India, prompting police departments to strengthen inter-state coordination and awareness campaigns.
