24 Girl Students Faint in Barabanki School

Around 24 girl students fainted during a morning assembly at a government girls' inter college in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday. The incident occurred while the students were standing for nearly an hour for the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign preparations.

The students, from the Government Girls' Inter College in Harakh village, collapsed and complained of dizziness before being taken to the Satrikh community health centre. Officials suspect that the heat was the primary cause of the incident.

Principal Sangeeta Chaudhary said that the incident was not serious and doctors discharged the students after treating them. Primary Health Centre superintendent Dr Nitish Kumar Singh stated that factors such as standing in the sun, inadequate water intake, and remaining on an empty stomach could have contributed to the students fainting.

The students were admitted to the hospital due to the unavailability of an ambulance, and they had to be taken in private vehicles. Joint Magistrate and Nawabganj SDM Gunjita Agrawal visited the hospital and enquired about the students' condition. She also inspected the school and checked the condition of fans and other facilities.

Some fans in the school were found to be running slowly, and officials directed that they be repaired. A water cooler installed on the second-floor gallery was also found to be non-functional. The college functions from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign is a nationwide initiative to encourage people to hoist the national flag at their homes. The campaign has been launched to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's independence.

The incident highlights the need for schools to take necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of their students, especially during outdoor events and in extreme weather conditions.

In recent years, there have been several instances of students falling ill due to heat and dehydration in schools. This incident serves as a reminder for schools to prioritize the well-being of their students and take measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

The government has launched several initiatives to promote the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, including encouraging schools to participate in the event. However, the incident in Barabanki highlights the need for schools to balance their participation in such events with the need to ensure the health and safety of their students.

In conclusion, the incident in Barabanki serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing the health and safety of students, especially during outdoor events and in extreme weather conditions. Schools must take necessary precautions to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign is a significant event that aims to promote national pride and unity. However, it is essential to ensure that the event is conducted in a safe and responsible manner, without compromising the health and well-being of participants, especially students.
