Bombay HC Turns Tribal Students' Plea Into PIL Over Ashram Schools

The Bombay High Court has converted a petition regarding the plight of tribal students on hunger strike into a public interest litigation (PIL) to address the larger issues surrounding the condition of ashram schools and hostels in Maharashtra.

On Monday, a bench of Acting Chief Justice Ravindra Ghuge and Justice Gautam Ankhad made this decision after considering the minutes of a meeting between the state government and representatives of the protesting students, submitted by Advocate General Milind Sathe.
