Bhiwandi Hotels Shut Over Food Safety Violations

A major crackdown on unhygienic food establishments has been launched in Bhiwandi, with the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Bhiwandi-Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) serving 'Business Stop' notices to two hotels.

The hotels, Baba Hotel and New Metro Hotel, were found to have serious violations of food safety and sanitation norms during a joint inspection. The action was taken after inspections revealed poor hygiene, improper storage and handling of food, and inadequate cleanliness.

The notices were served by Food Inspector Pravin Shinde, who directed the hotel operators to stop using the premises for commercial activities until all deficiencies are rectified.
