Mumbai Executive Arrested After SUV Crash Injures Constable

A 27-year-old firm executive, Siddharth Mahalingam, was arrested in Mumbai after allegedly driving his SUV in reverse at high speed to evade a drunk-driving checkpoint on Linking Road in Khar (West). A breath analyser test conducted after the incident found Mahalingam's blood alcohol level at 166.8 ug/100 ml, which is well above the permissible limit. The police have booked him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act, including attempt to culpable homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol.
