Mumbai Rains Boost Water Stock To 48.59%
Heavy monsoon rains hit Mumbai, Yellow Alert issued, floodwaters sweep LPG cylinders away

Mumbai experienced heavy monsoon rains on Thursday, leading to a rise in the city's water stock to 48.59%. The India Meteorological Department issued a Yellow Alert for the city, forecasting light to moderate rainfall and isolated heavy showers.
The BMC stated that Mumbai and its suburbs would witness cloudy skies with intermittent light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. The city's residents woke up to dark clouds and light rain on Thursday morning, with visuals from Marine Drive showing damp roads.
In a related incident, floodwaters swept around 3,000 LPG cylinders into the Patalganga River in Raigad, after heavy rainfall inundated HPCL's Patalganga LPG Bottling Plant. The district authorities reported that floodwaters entered the Chawane facility, triggering the large-scale washout.
The monsoon conditions have continued across the city, following days of widespread rainfall and changing weather patterns. The administration has issued an advisory in response to the floodwaters washing away the LPG cylinders.
The city's water stock has increased significantly due to the heavy rainfall, providing some relief to the residents. However, the authorities have cautioned citizens to be prepared for more rainfall and potential flooding in the coming days.
The situation is being closely monitored by the authorities, who are working to mitigate the effects of the heavy rainfall and ensure the safety of the citizens.
