NTA Suspends Eduquity After AIAPGET Exam Disruption

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a show-cause notice to M/s Eduquity Career Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and suspended their empanelment with immediate effect. This action comes after a power failure at an exam centre in Jaipur disrupted the AIAPGET 2026 examination for 49 candidates.

The incident occurred on August 22 during the Shift-I examination at Shri Satya Sai PG College in Jaipur. Of the 192 candidates who appeared at the centre, 49 could not complete the examination due to the power failure. The NTA attributed the lapse to M/s Eduquity Career Technologies Pvt. Ltd., the examination conducting agency.

The AIAPGET 2026 examination was conducted in two shifts across approximately 205 centres on August 22. According to the NTA, 51,482 candidates had registered for the examination, while 49,867 candidates appeared. The agency said the examination was completed for the overwhelming majority of candidates, with the Jaipur centre being the exception.

The NTA has scheduled a re-examination for the affected candidates on September 1, 2026, at 10 AM. The test will be conducted at Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women, Jaipur. Candidates eligible for the re-examination will receive revised admit cards containing further details about the test.

The NTA has expressed regret over the disruption and the inconvenience caused to the candidates. The agency has taken prompt action against the examination conducting agency, suspending their empanelment until the issues raised through the show-cause notice are resolved.

The AIAPGET examination is a crucial test for candidates seeking admission to various postgraduate courses. The NTA's prompt action in addressing the issue and scheduling a re-examination for the affected candidates is a positive step towards ensuring fairness and transparency in the examination process.

In recent years, the NTA has taken several measures to improve the conduct of examinations and prevent disruptions. The agency has implemented various measures, including the use of technology and robust infrastructure, to ensure smooth conduct of examinations.

The suspension of Eduquity's empanelment and the scheduling of a re-examination for the affected candidates demonstrate the NTA's commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process. The agency's actions are expected to provide relief to the affected candidates and ensure that they have a fair opportunity to complete their examination.

The incident highlights the importance of having robust systems and infrastructure in place to conduct large-scale examinations. The NTA's experience in conducting examinations and its ability to respond promptly to disruptions will be crucial in ensuring the success of future examinations.

In conclusion, the NTA's action in suspending Eduquity's empanelment and scheduling a re-examination for the affected candidates is a significant step towards maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
