The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to heavy rain in several other districts, including Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Indore, Dhar, Alirajpur, Burhanpur, Barwani, Khandwa, Khargone, Jhabua, Ujjain, Neemuch, Agar-Malwa, Mandsaur, Shajapur, Dewas, Ratlam, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Gwalior, Guna, Shivpuri, Datia, Ashoknagar, Morena, Bhind, Sheopur, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Dindori, Pandhurna, Rewa, Satna, Singrauli, Mauganj, Maihar, Shahdol, Umaria, Sagar, Panna, Damoh, and Niwari.

According to the IMD's Bhopal weather centre, Madhya Pradesh has received an average of 674.6 mm of rainfall so far this monsoon season, which is about 9% below the normal rainfall of 742.3 mm for this period.

As many as 37 districts are still in the below-normal rainfall category, while 18 districts have received more rain than average. Weather experts said thunderstorm and lightning activity is likely to continue from August 28 to 30.

The eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh, including the Jabalpur, Rewa, Sagar, and Shahdol divisions, have recorded rainfall deficits of up to 19%. Several districts, including Balaghat, Chhatarpur, Chhindwara, Damoh, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Mandla, Mauganj, Narsinghpur, Niwari, Pandhurna, Panna, Rewa, Sagar, Seoni, Tikamgarh, and Dindori, have received 1% to 49% less rain than normal.

In western Madhya Pradesh, districts such as Alirajpur, Ashoknagar, Betul, Datia, Dewas, Dhar, Harda, Indore, Jhabua, Morena, Mandsaur, Narmadapuram, Neemuch, Barwani, Raisen, Ratlam, Sehore, Shajapur, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Ujjain, and Vidisha have recorded 4% to 50% less rainfall than average.

The IMD has also recorded above-normal rainfall in Anuppur, Dindori, Niwari, Satna, Shahdol, Sidhi, Singrauli, Umaria, Agar-Malwa, Bhind, Bhopal, Burhanpur, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Khandwa, Khargone, Rajgarh, and Shivpuri.

For the next two days, heavy rain is expected in Shahdol, Anuppur, Seoni, and Balaghat on August 29, while Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli may receive heavy rain on August 31.
