Kanwariyas Beaten in Gwalior After Bike Collision

Two Kanwariyas were allegedly beaten with sticks and iron rods in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, after their bike had a minor collision with a car on Thursday night. The incident occurred in the Ghasmandi area, under the jurisdiction of the Kila Gate police station.

The collision happened when 4-5 youths, who had set out from Gwalior on motorcycles to fetch 'Kanwar' (holy water) from Haridwar, reached the Ghasmandi area. The argument that ensued between the two groups turned heated, and the trio - Arshad Khan, Golu, and Aqueel Khan, along with their friends, attacked the Kanwariyas.

Victims Vivek Yadav and Shubham Yadav sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment. The main accused, Arshad Khan, Golu, and Aqueel Khan, were in the car when the collision happened.

Dissatisfied with the police response, the 'Kanwariyas' companions and members of Hindu organisations staged a protest on the road outside the Bahodapur police station. The protesters blocked the road for approximately 2 to 3 hours and raised slogans against the police, disrupting traffic.

Following the protest, police registered a case against a total of 20 accused, including Arshad Khan, Golu, and Aqeel Khan. Charges include serious offences such as attempted murder, verbal abuse, and criminal intimidation.

The police are currently searching for the absconding accused, and the entire incident is under investigation. The condition of the two injured Kanwariyas is said to be critical, and they are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The incident has sparked tension in the area, with the protesters demanding swift action against the accused. The police have assured the protesters that they will take necessary action and bring the accused to justice.

In the meantime, the search for the absconding accused is ongoing, and the police are investigating the incident. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of Kanwariyas, who travel long distances to fetch holy water from Haridwar.

The Madhya Pradesh police have appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate with the investigation. The incident is a reminder of the need for communal harmony and the importance of respecting different faiths and traditions.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the police are working to ensure that justice is served. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, and the public is awaiting the outcome of the investigation.
