Indore Municipal Corporation Issues Certificates In 48 Hours

The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has launched a new system to provide birth and death certificates within 48 hours. This initiative aims to simplify the process and reduce the waiting time for citizens.

The IMC has decentralized the process, and certificates are now being issued through the corporation's 22 zonal offices instead of its headquarters. This change is expected to speed up the process and make it more efficient.

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav and Municipal Commissioner Kshitij Singhal have instructed zonal officers to ensure that certificates are processed and made available as quickly as possible. The civic body has set an overall delivery target of 48 hours.

Under the new system, birth and death information received from private hospitals, crematoriums, and cemeteries within each zone will be entered and approved on the Civil Registration System (CRS) portal. This will be done preferably on the same day. Once approved, the certificate will be sent in PDF format to the registered mobile number of the concerned family member.

Private hospitals in respective zones will be required to submit birth and death data to the civic body daily. Employees assigned to registration work will collect the data and forward it to the concerned staff for processing.

For offline applications, the application will first be recorded in the office inward register, and the applicant will be given an inward number and date. A computer operator will then enter the application online through the Indore 311 app, and the certificate will be issued in PDF format after approval within the prescribed time.

The corporation has also directed officials to complete corrections in birth and death certificates within 48 hours, wherever possible, after verifying supporting documents. The revised certificate will be provided in PDF format.

Supervisors at crematoriums and cemeteries have been instructed to submit death notification forms to the concerned zonal office daily, along with the mobile number and details of the deceased's family member. The information will then be entered on the CRS portal and processed so that the death certificate can be delivered to the family.

This new system is expected to bring relief to citizens who previously had to wait for a longer period to receive their birth and death certificates. The IMC's initiative is a step towards providing efficient and timely services to the public.

The introduction of this new system demonstrates the corporation's commitment to improving its services and making them more citizen-friendly. By decentralizing the process and using technology to speed up the issuance of certificates, the IMC aims to make the process more efficient and convenient for citizens.

In conclusion, the Indore Municipal Corporation's new system for issuing birth and death certificates within 48 hours is a significant improvement in the delivery of civic services. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the citizens of Indore and make the process of obtaining these essential documents more efficient and convenient.

The success of this initiative will depend on the effective implementation of the new system and the cooperation of citizens, private hospitals, and other stakeholders. If successful, this model could be replicated in other cities, leading to improved civic services across the country.

The IMC's efforts to improve its services and make them more citizen-friendly are commendable. The introduction of this new system is a step in the right direction and is expected to bring relief to citizens who previously had to wait for a longer period to receive their birth and death certificates.

Overall, the Indore Municipal Corporation's new system for issuing birth and death certificates within 48 hours is a significant improvement in the delivery of civic services. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the citizens of Indore and make the process of obtaining these essential documents more efficient and convenient.
