MHT CET CAP 2026: CET Cell Warns Of Legal Action Against False Documents

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has issued a notice for candidates participating in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2026-27, warning that admissions secured using false or forged reservation documents will be cancelled and may invite legal action.

The CET Cell is currently conducting the CAP for admission to various professional undergraduate and postgraduate programmes under the Department of Technical Education for the academic year 2026-27. Candidates have uploaded documents during the online application process to claim reservation benefits under categories such as Orphan, Defence, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Minority.

The CET Cell stated that if, during document verification or at any stage of scrutiny, any document submitted to claim reservation benefits is found to be incorrect, false, forged, or misleading, the candidate's admission will be cancelled with immediate effect. The Cell also warned that appropriate legal action will be initiated against the candidate in accordance with the applicable rules.

Institutions have been directed to conduct physical verification of the original documents of allotted candidates before confirming admission. Institutions have been instructed to grant admission only after verifying all original documents. The CET Cell further cautioned that any institution found to have confirmed admissions without carrying out the mandatory verification process will also face legal action under the prescribed rules.

The official notice advised all admission-granting institutions to confirm admission only after physical verification of all the original documents of the concerned candidates. If it is found that admission has been confirmed without proper verification of the documents, legal action will be taken against such institution.

Candidates and participating institutions have been advised to take note of the instructions and ensure strict compliance during the admission process. The CET Cell's warning comes as the CAP Round 1 has already allotted MBA/MMS seats to 36,950 students.

The move is aimed at ensuring the integrity of the admission process and preventing any fraudulent activities. The CET Cell's decision to conduct strict document verification is expected to bring transparency and fairness to the admission process.

In recent years, there have been instances of candidates submitting false or forged documents to claim reservation benefits. The CET Cell's warning is a step towards preventing such instances and ensuring that only eligible candidates are granted admission.

The admission process for the academic year 2026-27 is currently underway, and candidates are advised to ensure that they submit genuine documents to avoid any cancellation of admission or legal action. The CET Cell's notice has been released to inform candidates and institutions about the importance of document verification and the consequences of submitting false documents.

The Maharashtra State CET Cell is responsible for conducting the CET and CAP for admission to various professional courses in the state. The Cell's primary objective is to ensure that the admission process is fair, transparent, and merit-based.

In conclusion, the MHT CET CAP 2026 has warned candidates and institutions about the importance of document verification and the consequences of submitting false documents. The move is expected to bring transparency and fairness to the admission process and prevent any fraudulent activities.
