Brahmin Activist Starts Hunger Strike in Jalna

Brahmin community activist Deepak Rannaware has announced that he will launch an indefinite hunger strike from August 29 at Mahatma Gandhi Chaman in Jalna to press for various demands.

The hunger strike is aimed at drawing attention to the community's demands, including increased funding for the Parshuram Arthik Vikas Mahamandal. Rannaware stated that the Mahamandal was established two years ago, but only around ₹8-10 crore has been sanctioned so far.

He demanded that the government allocate ₹1,000 crore to the Mahamandal, citing that only eight to 10 proposals had been sanctioned due to stringent conditions imposed by the government. Rannaware also claimed that even after the formation of the Mahamandal, only a few employees had been appointed and no non-government members had been included.

Among his other demands are increasing the annual income limit under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category from ₹8 lakh to ₹15 lakh, establishing coaching centres for Brahmin students preparing for competitive examinations, and providing free education to boys and girls from the community.

Rannaware also demanded legislation to provide protection to members of the Brahmin community against alleged abuses and caste-based slurs, similar to provisions under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Additionally, he demanded a monthly allowance of ₹10,000 for Brahmin community priests (purohits). The press conference was attended by Sanjay Deshpande, Arvind Deshpande, and Subhash Mevnakar.

The Brahmin community has been facing various challenges, and Rannaware's hunger strike is an attempt to bring attention to these issues. The community has been seeking increased funding and support for their development.

The Parshuram Arthik Vikas Mahamandal was established to promote the economic development of the Brahmin community. However, the community feels that the Mahamandal has not been effective in addressing their needs.

Rannaware's demands are an attempt to address the community's concerns and seek greater support from the government. The outcome of the hunger strike remains to be seen, but it has already sparked a debate about the issues faced by the Brahmin community.

The hunger strike is a significant development, and its impact will be closely watched. The government's response to Rannaware's demands will be crucial in determining the outcome of the hunger strike.

In conclusion, the Brahmin community's demands are an important issue that needs to be addressed. The government must take steps to address the community's concerns and provide greater support for their development.

The hunger strike is a call to action, and it remains to be seen how the government will respond. The Brahmin community is seeking greater recognition and support, and it is essential that their demands are heard and addressed.
