Woman Run Over By Truck After Scooter Hits Pothole On Bhiwandi Road

A tragic accident occurred on Sunday on the Thane-Bhiwandi Road near Rahanal village, resulting in the death of a 46-year-old woman. Sunita Akshay Lal Pal, a resident of Manorama Nagar in Thane, was travelling with her husband Akshay Lal Pal on an Activa scooter to inspect a flat in Bhiwandi.

The scooter hit a waterlogged pothole on the road, causing Akshay to lose control. The couple was thrown off in different directions, with Sunita falling in the middle of the carriageway and Akshay landing near the edge of the road. Unfortunately, a truck approaching from behind failed to stop and ran over Sunita, killing her on the spot.

Akshay sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. The Narpoli police were alerted by passers-by and reached the scene to conduct a panchnama. The body was sent to Indira Gandhi Memorial Sub-District Hospital for post-mortem examination.
