PM Modi, Amit Shah Wave Tiranga at NDA Meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other NDA leaders waved the Tiranga during the NDA's weekly parliamentary party meeting 'Mangal Milan' at the Parliament Library Building in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The meeting, which was the last of the 2026 Monsoon Session, aimed to synchronise floor strategy among NDA partners and finalise legislative priorities for the remaining days of the session.

During the meeting, slogans of Vande Mataram echoed through the GMC Balayogi Auditorium, filling it with patriotism.

After the meeting, NDA MPs marched towards Parliament, demanding a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the police crackdown against student protesters on July 20.

The MPs carried placards against the Opposition, alleging that they were running away from discussion despite the government stating that HM Amit Shah was ready for discussion on the student protests issue.

Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Centre was ready to discuss every issue related to the student protests, including the police crackdown on July 20.

Rijiju stated that the Home Minister would not only give a statement on the student protest and the police crackdown but also respond to the debate discussion.

The assurance came as Parliament remained deadlocked over the Opposition's demand for a statement from the HM on the police action.

However, Rijiju said that the Opposition must not create a 'hungama' (ruckus) during the House proceedings.

The government is ready for a discussion on issues related to students and will respond to all the points raised by the Opposition, Rijiju said.

The NDA's show of patriotism and demand for discussion from the Opposition highlights the ongoing tensions in Parliament.

The Monsoon Session has been marked by disruptions and protests, with the Opposition demanding action on various issues.

The government's willingness to discuss the student protests issue may help to ease tensions and allow for more productive discussions in Parliament.
