CM Fadnavis Orders MSME Survey To Boost Maharashtra Growth

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a comprehensive survey of Maharashtra's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to strengthen the sector and create jobs.

The directive was given during a review meeting of the Industries Department at the Chief Minister's official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai. Fadnavis emphasized the need to convert investments into operational industries through sector-specific policies.

The Chief Minister stressed that industry policies should be prepared after consulting domain experts and successful entrepreneurs to address existing gaps and ensure ease of doing business. He also emphasized the effective implementation of existing industrial policies, stating that it would contribute to building a prosperous Maharashtra.

Fadnavis highlighted the importance of the MSME sector as the state's largest source of employment and directed officials to identify priority sectors based on investor requirements. He instructed the department to assess the current status, production capacity, employment potential, and existing workforce of MSMEs through the proposed survey.

The Chief Minister also reviewed proposed industrial policies and called for provisions to facilitate the establishment of large convention centres and chemical parks. He proposed the formulation of a comprehensive Circular Economy Policy to promote sustainable industrial growth.

Fadnavis directed that the 'MAITRI Portal' be made mandatory for obtaining all industrial approvals and instructed officials to improve service quality and ensure prompt grievance redressal. He proposed setting up a dedicated call centre for investors and entrepreneurs, with AI-based analysis of recorded calls to identify recurring issues and support policy improvements.

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) was instructed to adopt a transparent and rational mechanism for industrial land allotment based on feasibility and actual demand. The move is expected to boost industrial growth and create jobs in the state.

Maharashtra has been attracting the highest investment in the country, and the Chief Minister's directives aim to convert these investments into operational industries. The state's MSME sector is the largest source of employment, and the proposed survey and new policies are expected to strengthen the sector and promote industrial growth.
