Journalist's Sister Shot Dead By Husband in Lucknow

Journalist and YouTuber Pragya Mishra shared a detailed account of her sister's killing on Thursday, August 20. Divya Mishra, a Deputy Manager at ICICI Bank in Lucknow's Gomti Nagar, was shot dead outside her workplace by her estranged husband, Manas Vajpayee.

According to Pragya, Divya had been living separately from Vajpayee due to his alleged psychotic behaviour. On the day of the incident, Divya went to work as usual and completed her routine duties before stepping out with a colleague to collect a cheque. Vajpayee followed her in an autorickshaw and waited for her to return to the bank.

When Divya reached the bank, Vajpayee fired the first shot at her near the entrance. He then attacked her repeatedly with the butt of the revolver, striking her on the face and head. People present nearby fled the spot in fear. Vajpayee then took out a second revolver and fired again.

Pragya described the injuries suffered by her sister as severe, saying she had sustained extensive wounds to her forehead. The police received information about the incident and immediately reached the scene. After killing Divya, Vajpayee also killed his sister and then committed suicide.
