Khalifa Earns ₹2.30 Crore On Day 2

Prithviraj Sukumaran's Malayalam film Khalifa was released on Thursday and took a decent start at the box office, earning ₹5.35 crore net in India.

The movie received mixed reviews from critics and the audience, which led to a drop in collection on Friday. According to reports, Khalifa earned ₹2.30 crore net in India on its second day, taking the total to ₹7.65 crore net.

This represents a drop of around 57 per cent from the first day's collection. The movie's domestic gross collection stands at ₹8.90 crore.

Khalifa has been performing well overseas, collecting ₹4 crore gross internationally on its second day. The worldwide gross total now stands at ₹19.90 crore.

The movie was made on a budget of ₹45-50 crore, so it needs to show a significant jump at the box office on Saturday and Sunday to collect a decent amount during its first extended weekend.

Prithviraj's recent films, such as Vilayath Buddha and I, Nobody, failed to make a mark at the box office. Vilayath Buddha earned ₹5.20 crore net in India, while I, Nobody's lifetime collection was ₹8.71 crore net.

Prithviraj has some interesting projects lined up, including Odiyan: The Age of Illusion, Varanasi, and Daayra. Daayra, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, is slated to release on September 18, 2026.

Varanasi, which also stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, is scheduled to release on April 7, 2027.

The fate of Khalifa at the box office remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to watch how it performs over the weekend.
