Indore Restaurant Owner's Son Arrested For Murder
21-year-old Rahul Bhati arrested for killing 55-year-old staffer, dispute over work and wages

A 21-year-old man, Rahul Bhati, was arrested by Banganga police in Indore for allegedly murdering a 55-year-old employee of his father's restaurant. The deceased, Shriram Rajput, worked as a halwai at Ruchi Restaurant, owned by Rahul's father, Laxminarayan Bhati.
The dispute between Rahul and Shriram started on August 14, when a row broke out between them and Rahul's friend Raj. Following the dispute, Shriram stopped going to work, and was also owed two months' wages. Rahul's father scolded him for his aggressive behaviour, which led to Shriram's absence.
Rahul, angry over the scolding and suspecting Shriram of stealing money from the restaurant, decided to confront him. On Sunday, around 5 pm, Rahul visited Shriram's house and convinced him to accompany him on his two-wheeler, on the pretext of settling the pending wages and mediating a compromise with his friend Raj.
He took Shriram to the Ganganagar railway tracks and allegedly assaulted him with a metal bike shocker procured from a friend's garage. During interrogation, Rahul claimed he had initially intended only to beat Shriram, but the head injuries proved fatal.
The police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the BNS and arrested Rahul near MR 10 Square within 24 hours. The police also recovered the murder weapon, the clothes Rahul was wearing during the incident, and the motorcycle used in the crime.
After the murder, Rahul allegedly called Shriram's wife and told her that he had killed her husband and that she could take the body. By the time police arrived, stray dogs had mutilated the victim's face and body.
The victim's family staged a road blockade near Deepmala Dhaba after receiving the body following the post-mortem, demanding strict punishment for the accused and financial compensation. Senior police officials reached the spot to pacify the family and clear the road.
The incident highlights the need for employers to ensure a safe working environment for their employees and to resolve disputes in a peaceful manner. The police have taken swift action in this case, and it is expected that justice will be served.
The case is a reminder that violence is never a solution to disputes, and that it can have severe consequences. The community should come together to condemn such acts of violence and to promote peace and harmony.
