NGT Orders Action Against BMC Over Sewage, Tree Damage

The BMC has been asked to answer 10 sewage-related questions, including the total population of the BMC area, water requirement, supply and total consumption, and measures taken to prevent sewage discharge. The BMC may face environmental compensation of around Rs. 1.70 crore for sewage discharge if the deadline for commissioning the new sewage treatment plant is missed.
