Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Collector Orders DJ-Free Ganeshotsav

District Collector Vinay Gowda GC has instructed that this year's Ganeshotsav in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar be made DJ-free, safe, and eco-friendly. He emphasized the need for coordination among all stakeholders, including the district administration, police, local self-government bodies, public Ganesh mandals, and citizens.

The state government has organized competitions for outstanding Ganesh mandals, with awards to be presented at both the taluka and district levels. Collector Gowda has urged Ganesh mandals to participate in these competitions, which include prizes of ₹25,000 at the taluka level and ₹50,000, ₹40,000, and ₹30,000 at the district level for first, second, and third places, respectively.

A coordination meeting was held on Tuesday at the planning hall of the District Collector's office, attended by various government officials, including Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Minnu PM, District Superintendent of Police Prakash Jadhav, and Additional District Collector Sambhaji Adkune. Field officers participated in the meeting via video conferencing.

Collector Gowda stated that public Ganesh Utsav mandals should prioritize traditional musical instruments and avoid using DJs to curb noise pollution and maintain the sanctity of the festival. He also directed officials to publicize this initiative and ensure the participation of the maximum number of mandals.

The administration will maintain communication with the mandals and provide necessary instructions and guidance. Collector Gowda also announced that necessary committees will be constituted at the taluka level to coordinate and hold meetings with public Ganeshotsav mandals.

District Superintendent of Police Prakash Jadhav issued instructions regarding arrangements at key immersion sites, including the immersion site in the Kaygaon-Toka area of Gangapur taluka. He directed that adequate lighting and necessary security measures be put in place, taking into account the expected crowds of devotees.
