East Central Railway Women Welfare Organisation Celebrates Independence Day

The East Central Railway Women Welfare Organisation, based in Hajipur, organised an Independence Day celebration on August 15, 2026, at Little Angel Kindergarten and Play School in the Railway Colony at Konhara Ghat.

The event was led by Sunita Singh, President of the organisation, who hoisted the national flag to commence the celebrations.

Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, a new classroom and library at the school were formally inaugurated by Singh. Additionally, a new computer and printer were also inaugurated to enhance the school's facilities.

The schoolchildren presented a cultural programme, which included various performances, and were rewarded with gifts for their efforts. The teachers and other school staff were also presented with gifts as a token of appreciation.

As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Women Welfare Organisation donated an automatic washing machine to the Central Super Specialty Hospital in Patna. This donation aims to improve the hospital's facilities and provide better services to its patients.

Furthermore, the organisation distributed Milton tiffin boxes among all patients admitted to the hospital and provided newborn babies with mosquito-safe beds, fruits, and biscuits.

The event was attended by several members of the East Central Railway Women Welfare Organisation, including Vice-President Ranjana Kumar, Secretary Manisha Sinha, Treasurer Poonam Srivastava, and Joint Secretary Priyanka Singh.
