MPPSC Assistant Professor Exam Sees 64% Attendance

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) conducted the second phase of the Assistant Professor Recruitment Examination 2025, which saw 64% attendance. A total of 13,440 candidates appeared across 45 centres in the state for 417 posts in six subjects.

The exam was conducted amid tight security and surveillance, with a three-layer checking and monitoring system in place to strengthen transparency and prevent cheating. Officials reported that no case of malpractice was reported at any exam centre.

The second phase of the exam covered six subjects: Hindi, English, Commerce, Sociology, Political Science, and Economics. Candidates began arriving at exam centres from around 9 am and underwent a thorough checking process, including admit card and photo identity verification, metal detector screening, biometric verification, and CCTV surveillance.

The exam consisted of two papers: General Studies and a subject-specific paper. The General Studies paper carried 150 marks and had 50 questions covering areas such as general knowledge, current affairs, and history. The subject-specific paper had 100 questions and carried 300 marks. Together, the two papers carried a total of 450 marks.

Candidates found the General Studies paper relatively easy, with many reporting that it gave greater importance to developments and events from the past decade. However, the subject-specific paper demanded greater caution, with several questions framed in a twisted or indirect manner.

Alongside the Assistant Professor examination, MPPSC also conducted the recruitment examination for 80 vacant posts of Assistant Director and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon. The exam saw an attendance rate of 84% across two sessions, with 747 candidates appearing out of 890 registered.

The Veterinary Science paper is expected to favour candidates with strong technical and conceptual knowledge of the subject. While speed and broad awareness were important in the General Studies paper, conceptual clarity and factual accuracy were likely to prove decisive in the subject-specific paper.
