Four Arrested For Murder Of Kalyan Teacher

A woman from Kalyan, identified as Sangeeta Maruti Chandanshive, was found dead near SMBT Hospital on the Ghoti-Sinnar Highway.

The police have solved the murder case and arrested four accused in connection with it.

According to the Sub-Divisional Officer Bambale, the deceased was a teacher and also worked as an LIC agent. Her brother, Ravindra Maruti Chandanshive, had filed a missing person complaint at the Kolsewadi Police Station.

The police initially registered a case of accidental death but later found that the woman's mobile Call Detail Record revealed a last call from Santosh Jadhav of Panchavati, Nashik. Upon detaining him, the names of the prime accused came to light.

The Crime Detection Squad of the Thane City Police arrested the accused and handed them over to the Wadi-Varhe police. The accused have been identified as Digambar Bhaguji Avhad, Tushar Murlidhar Ratnaparkhi, Vinod Ramchandra Pande, and Santosh Jadhav.

Sangeeta Chandanshive and Digambar Avhad had been in a romantic relationship for several years. However, Digambar was already married and had promised to marry Sangeeta if she transferred some of her properties to his name.

He took her to Alandi under the pretext of getting married and later murdered her near SMBT Hospital. The police have registered a murder case and are conducting further investigations.
