Naveen Jindal Leads Rath Yatra Celebrations

On Thursday, thousands of people gathered at Devboomi, Jindal Nagar, Angul to celebrate the annual Rath Yatra. Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel, led the celebrations as the Prime servitor, joining the community to pull the sacred chariots. He was accompanied by his mother, Savitri Jindal, and wife, Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of Jindal Foundation.

Mr Jindal performed the traditional ritual of Chhera Pahanra, sweeping the path in front of the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. He expressed his gratitude to be a part of the celebrations, saying that he prays to Lord Jagannath to bless everyone with good health, happiness, and prosperity.

The Jindal Foundation has initiated its signature Anna Seva program in Puri for the 12th consecutive year. The program, which will run from July 15 to July 25, 2026, aims to distribute hundreds of thousands of freshly prepared meals to arriving pilgrims. The Foundation operates three dedicated live-kitchen distribution hubs near the Gundicha Temple Bus Stand, Puri Railway Station Square, and Station Road.

These centres work round-the-clock to serve wholesome, traditional Odia cuisine, consisting of rice, dalma, and khata, all crafted under stringent food safety and hygiene guidelines. The Foundation's Rath Yatra Seva has served as a symbol of empathy and shared responsibility, ensuring that no devotee goes hungry during the holy transit.

The Jindal Foundation's efforts are a testament to the company's commitment to giving back to the community. By providing food to the pilgrims, the Foundation is helping to make the Rath Yatra celebrations more accessible and enjoyable for all.

The Rath Yatra is an important festival in India, celebrating the journey of Lord Jagannath and his siblings from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple. The festival is a time for spiritual devotion, collective worship, and community bonding.

The Jindal Foundation's Anna Seva program is just one example of the company's philanthropic efforts. The Foundation has been involved in various initiatives over the years, including education, healthcare, and environmental conservation.
