Indore Police Seize ₹55 Lakh Illegal Liquor, Arrest Five

In a significant crackdown on illegal liquor, the Indore police arrested five individuals and seized liquor worth approximately ₹55 lakh on Saturday. The arrests were made during the ongoing 'Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0' campaign, which aims to combat the menace of drugs and illegal liquor.

The operation was led by DCP (Zone-2) Aman Singh Rathore, who acted on a tip-off regarding the transportation of illegal liquor in a truck and a car. The truck was intercepted near HR Resort on the Bypass Road, and two individuals, Akash Ahirwar and Rahul Namdev, were taken into custody. Upon searching the vehicle, the police found 912 boxes containing beer and other brands of liquor.

The accused were unable to produce a valid license for transporting the liquor, leading to the registration of a case under the Excise Act. During questioning, they revealed the names of three more individuals allegedly involved in the transportation of the liquor. Based on this information, the police arrested Vijay Vaishnav, Deepanshu Sonone, and Nitesh Prajapati near Chinar Hills on the Rau Bypass Road.

The total seizure included over 11,000 litres of liquor, valued at around ₹55 lakh, as well as the truck and car used for transportation, valued at approximately ₹50 lakh and ₹5 lakh, respectively. The total value of the seized property is estimated to be around ₹1.10 crore.

The police have stated that further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the alleged liquor smuggling network. It has also come to light that some of the arrested individuals have previous criminal cases registered against them.

The 'Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0' campaign has been yielding significant results in the fight against drugs and illegal liquor in the region. The campaign's success can be attributed to the tireless efforts of the police and the valuable information provided by tip-offs.

The seizure of such a large quantity of illegal liquor is a major blow to the smuggling network operating in the area. The police are determined to continue their efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs and illegal liquor, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for the citizens of Indore.

The operation is a testament to the effectiveness of the ongoing campaign and the commitment of the police to combatting illegal activities. As the investigation continues, it is expected that more individuals involved in the smuggling network will be brought to justice.

In conclusion, the arrest of five individuals and the seizure of ₹55 lakh worth of illegal liquor is a significant achievement for the Indore police. The ongoing campaign against drugs and liquor has been successful in disrupting the smuggling network, and the police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the citizens of Indore are protected from the harmful effects of illegal substances.

The success of the operation is a result of the combined efforts of the police and the public, who have been providing valuable information to aid in the fight against drugs and illegal liquor.
