MGM University Celebrates 7th Foundation Day in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

MGM University in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar celebrated its seventh Foundation Day on Tuesday at Rukmini Auditorium, attended by prominent academicians, university officials, and students.

The event was graced by Prof Badri Narayan Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, as the chief guest, who joined virtually. Dr Prakash Mahanwar, Vice-Chancellor of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University, was present as the guest of honour.

Other notable attendees included MGM Vice-Chairman Dr PM Jadhav, Chancellor Ankushrao Kadam, educationist Bhausaheb Rajale, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Vilas Sapkal, and Registrar Dr Ashish Gadekar.

A documentary showcasing the university's seven-year journey was screened during the event. Additionally, books authored by faculty members and the university newsletter, MGM Abhivyakti 2026, were released. Outstanding students and contributors were felicitated for their achievements.

The university also inaugurated the Salesforce Centre of Excellence and Finishing School, aiming to enhance student skills and employability. Furthermore, an MoU was signed with Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solkur University to strengthen academic collaboration and promote multidisciplinary education.

In his address, Prof Tiwari emphasized the importance of experiential learning, social responsibility, and social entrepreneurship. Dr Mahanwar highlighted the need for multidisciplinary education, skill development, and environmental conservation.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Vilas Sapkal urged students to develop professional skills and pursue innovative ideas. Registrar Dr Ashish Gadekar mentioned that the university now offers over 300 programmes across seven faculties to around 10,000 students.
