A multi-vehicle collision took place on the Magathane bridge on the Western Express Highway in Borivali East on Thursday.

The incident occurred on the southbound carriageway and involved five cars and a private bus.

According to the traffic police, the road had become slippery due to the rain, causing two bikers to lose control of their vehicles.

A car driver, who was travelling behind the bikers, applied sudden brakes to avoid hitting them, triggering a chain-reaction collision.

The collision occurred at around 4 pm and all the vehicles sustained minor damage.

Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties reported.

The Dahisar Traffic Police removed the damaged vehicles from the bridge to the roadside, and one locked vehicle was shifted using a crane.

The traffic police were able to restore traffic within 15-20 minutes.
