UP CM Yogi Adityanath Launches Health Scheme For Teachers

In a significant move to strengthen the health security of teachers and personnel of the Education Department, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the 'Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Suvidha Yojana' in Varanasi on Wednesday. This scheme aims to provide cashless treatment to teachers and their families, covering a wide range of medical treatments.

The scheme will benefit around 12 lakh teachers, cooks, and other personnel, along with their families, who are employed in Basic and Secondary schools, aided schools, and other educational institutions in the state. The state government will bear the entire annual premium of ₹3,000 per teacher, with an estimated annual expenditure of ₹447 crore. The scheme will be implemented through the State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services, providing cashless treatment of up to ₹5 lakh per family at empanelled government and private hospitals.

During the launch event, the Chief Minister also transferred funds of ₹1,320 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the accounts of parents of over 1 crore 10 lakh students, to enable them to purchase essential educational materials such as uniforms, school bags, and stationery. Additionally, a social security-related Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between the Basic Education Department and the State Bank of India, connecting around 10 lakh teachers and personnel with social security benefits, including group life insurance and personal accident insurance.

The 'Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Suvidha Yojana' is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of teachers and their families, providing them with much-needed health security and financial support. The scheme is part of the state government's efforts to improve the overall well-being of its employees and their families. With the launch of this scheme, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to set a new standard for teacher welfare and social security in the country.

The event also saw the felicitation of nationally selected Swachh evam Harit Vidyalayas, recognizing their contributions to promoting cleanliness and environmental sustainability in schools. The Chief Minister symbolically distributed cashless medical cards to teachers, marking the beginning of a new era in teacher welfare and health security in the state.

Overall, the launch of the 'Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Suvidha Yojana' is a significant step towards improving the lives of teachers and their families in Uttar Pradesh, and is expected to have a positive impact on the state's education sector as a whole. With its focus on health security, social security, and financial support, this scheme is a welcome move for the teaching community in the state.

In the coming days, the state government is expected to work towards the effective implementation of the scheme, ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries are able to access the cashless treatment and other benefits provided under the scheme. The government will also monitor the progress of the scheme, making any necessary adjustments to ensure its success and effectiveness. With the launch of this scheme, the Uttar Pradesh government has once again demonstrated its commitment to the welfare of its employees and the overall development of the state.

The scheme's implementation is expected to be a major challenge, given the large number of beneficiaries and the complexity of the healthcare system in the state. However, with the state government's commitment to the scheme and the involvement of various stakeholders, including the State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services and the State Bank of India, it is hoped that the scheme will be a success and will have a positive impact on the lives of teachers and their families in Uttar Pradesh.

In conclusion, the launch of the 'Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Suvidha Yojana' is a significant development in the state's education sector, and is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of teachers and their families.
