2 Men Killed in Navi Mumbai Road Accident

A tragic road accident occurred on Thane-Belapur Road in Navi Mumbai on Wednesday evening, resulting in the deaths of two men.

Raj Pancham Jaiswar, 42, and his father-in-law Shivmurat Ramlochan Jaiswal, 61, were riding a TVS Scooty towards Thane when an unidentified vehicle struck them from behind at high speed. The impact threw both men onto the road, leaving them critically injured.

The accident happened near the drain below Khairane Bridge in Pawane MIDC at around 7:15 pm. The victims were rushed to a municipal hospital but were declared dead before treatment could begin.

The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the scene without assisting the injured men or informing the police. The Turbhe police are currently investigating the incident and attempting to identify and trace the vehicle and its driver.

According to the police, the accident appears to have occurred due to rash and negligent driving. A case has been registered against the unidentified driver under relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the accident or have information about the vehicle to come forward. The incident highlights the need for responsible driving and adherence to traffic rules to prevent such tragedies.
