Crocodile Kills Man in MP's Sheopur

A man was killed by a crocodile in the Doni River in Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Prakash Rawat, had gone into the river when he was attacked by the crocodile.

District forest officer KS Randhava stated that the victim was taken to hospital but was declared brought dead. The family of the deceased will receive financial help of Rs 8 lakh as per norms.

According to local wildlife activist Uttam Singh, Prakash Rawat was in the middle of the river when the crocodile attacked him. Local villagers heard his screams and entered the river to save him. However, when they pulled him out, the crocodile also came out, still clamped onto the victim's body.

Despite being rescued, the victim died due to his injuries. Locals are now demanding that the crocodile be rescued from the river, as villagers often visit the river to bathe their cattle.

A forest official explained that crocodiles often enter the rivers and streams from the Chambal river. The incident has raised concerns among the local community, who are urging the authorities to take action to prevent such incidents in the future.
