Madhya Pradesh Signs MoUs To Link Youth Training With Industry

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday emphasized the importance of skill upgrades for youths in the face of emerging technologies rapidly changing the job market.

He was addressing an orientation programme for 550 trainees at Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park in Bhopal.

Yadav stressed that the changing employment landscape requires young people to equip themselves with industry-relevant skills, rather than relying solely on academic degrees.

To achieve this, the state government signed MoUs with several leading companies to connect trained youth with industry opportunities.

The government is also working to increase the institute's training capacity from 2,000 to 10,000 students.

Yadav urged students to continuously update their skills and learn to work with emerging technologies, citing the example of the past when skills were more important than formal degrees.

He expressed concerns over the growing disconnect between education and employment, highlighting the role of skill-based institutions in providing industry-oriented training and better employment opportunities.

A new multipurpose hall, Varahamihir Hall, was also inaugurated on the campus, constructed at a cost of around Rs 4 crore.

The facility will be used for academic, cultural, and institutional programmes.

The institute plans to expand its facilities using 2.5 acres of land located opposite the existing campus, aiming to accommodate more trainees in the future.
