UP Election Prep: EVM-VVPAT Checks Start

The Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections are approaching, and preparations are underway to ensure a smooth voting process. In Lucknow, election officials have started the First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines and VVPAT units.

The Samajwadi Party, led by Akhilesh Yadav, is preparing a new political strategy focused on district-level issues. In Varanasi, a special workshop was conducted to train election officials from 21 districts on technical and administrative procedures, security measures, and prescribed protocols. The training covered hands-on operation of EVMs and VVPATs, along with procedures for randomisation, commissioning, polling, counting, and post-counting protocols.

Experts from Bharat Electronics Limited explained the technical structure and security features of the machines. The training was conducted under the supervision of senior election officials, including Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Manish Garg and Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa.

The participants were also assessed after the training, and their queries were addressed through a doubt-clearing session. This training is part of the larger effort to ensure election preparedness and transparency in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
