Yogi Govt Assigns Nodal Officers For Tree Plantation Drive

The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed nodal officers for various districts to oversee the successful implementation of the Paudhropan Mahayagya-2026, a tree plantation drive scheduled for July 12.

The nodal officers will work in coordination with central and state government ministers, public representatives, and the Forest Department to ensure the success of the event.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the Paudhropan Mahayagya from Gorakhpur, while other senior officials have been assigned to different districts. Sports Secretary Suhas L.Y. will oversee the campaign in Gorakhpur, and Shambhu Kumar, Managing Director of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam, will be in charge of Varanasi.

Other notable appointments include Director General, Fisheries, Dhanalakshmi K. in Jaunpur, Transport Commissioner Ashutosh Niranjan in Ballia, and Secretary, Food Safety and Drug Administration, Dr. Roshan Jacob in Basti.

Principal Secretary (Cooperation) Ajay Kumar Shukla will lead the campaign in Prayagraj, while Principal Secretary (Agriculture) Ravindra will oversee the event in Saharanpur.

The state government has also deployed officers in other districts, including Lucknow, where Principal Secretary (Appointments) M. Devaraj will be the nodal officer.

The Paudhropan Mahayagya-2026 aims to promote tree plantation and environmental conservation in the state.

The event is part of the state government's efforts to increase green cover and mitigate the effects of climate change.
