SpiceJet Passenger Loses $250 on Mumbai-Dubai Flight

A passenger travelling from Mumbai to Dubai on SpiceJet Airlines has alleged that $250 was stolen from her checked-in bag. The incident occurred on August 26, when the passenger, Raisun Ansari, and her friend, Shagufta Khan, were travelling on SpiceJet flight YM9UF.

According to the FIR, Ansari and Khan had placed US dollars worth Rs 12,500 each in a black-coloured bag, which they then handed over for check-in at Mumbai International Airport. After arriving in Dubai, they received their luggage at around 4.30 pm, but noticed that the lock of the bag had been broken.

Upon checking the bag, Ansari discovered that the US dollars were missing. She had kept 250 US dollars in the bag, which she valued at around Rs 25 lakh. Ansari approached the Sahar police and lodged a complaint, following which the police registered a case against an unidentified person under Section 303(2) (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
