Yogi Adityanath Honours Rescue Personnel

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honoured personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and Fire Services for their heroic rescue operations.

The ceremony took place in Lucknow, where the Chief Minister addressed the gathering and expressed his appreciation for the personnel's bravery. He stated that there is no shortage of funds for disaster management and announced plans to expand the initiative to include more departments in the future.

Eight personnel were felicitated for their exemplary service in disaster response, including Subhash Chandra, Head Constable of the 11th Battalion, NDRF, Varanasi, who rescued pilgrims stranded in the Saryu River in Ayodhya. Shailendra Kumar, Constable of the 11th Battalion, NDRF, Varanasi, was also honoured for safely evacuating civilians trapped inside a multi-storey building during a major fire incident in Lucknow.

Lalchandra Yadav, Team In-Charge (Inspector) of the State Disaster Response Force, Uttar Pradesh, displayed courageous leadership while leading disaster management operations. Narvdeshwar, Platoon Commander of the State Disaster Response Force, Uttar Pradesh, successfully executed the team leader's strategies on the ground during zero-ground rescue operations.

Mahendra Yadav and Ramjag Kumar, Head Constable/Constable of the 32nd Battalion, PAC, rescued a drowning girl from the Yamuna River at Arail Ghat in Prayagraj and brought her to safety. Yogendra Prasad Chaurasia, Fire Officer, Fire Services Department, prevented a fire at a garment manufacturing company in Noida from spreading through his prompt presence of mind.

Ashok Kumar, Fireman, Fire Services Department, safely rescued people trapped in a major fire in Aliganj, Lucknow, and displayed exceptional courage despite sustaining injuries during the operation. The Chief Minister also announced plans to consider recognising boatmen who save lives and individuals who rescue people during human-wildlife conflict situations.

The ceremony highlighted the importance of disaster management and the bravery of the personnel involved in rescue operations.
