Pandharpur Replica Ready For Ashadhi Ekadashi

The Vitthal-Rukmini Temple at Chhota Pandharpur, also known as the 'Pandharpur Replica', is gearing up for the Ashadhi Ekadashi fair on Saturday.

To manage the large number of devotees expected, the authorities have put in place an AI-based security system, 74 CCTV cameras, 300 volunteers, and 500 police personnel.

Every year, lakhs of Warkaris visit Chhota Pandharpur to offer prayers to Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini on Ashadhi Ekadashi. The district administration and temple authorities have made elaborate arrangements to ensure a smooth pilgrimage.

The temple trust, police, and other government agencies have jointly prepared a comprehensive plan for the annual pilgrimage. This year, an AI-based security system will be introduced for the first time to assist in counting devotees, managing crowds, and monitoring suspicious activities.

Several religious rituals have been planned, including the Maha Abhishek and Padya Puja at midnight by Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant and his wife.

MP Sandipan Bhumre and Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsat will also be present. Another Padya Puja will be performed by Police Inspector Rameshwar Gade and his wife.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Atulkar stated that the AI-based security system will help monitor pilgrim movement, regulate crowds, and detect suspicious activities.

All necessary security arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of devotees and the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
