6 Trekkers Rescued in Panvel Hills

Six trekkers, all between 18 and 20 years old, were rescued after losing their way in the Panvel hills.

The group had started their trek at 3pm from the Ransai Khair Kuti area in Uran, heading towards a hill near Kale village in Panvel. However, as night began to fall, they found themselves unable to locate the descent route.

In a desperate bid for help, the trekkers dialled 112, the emergency services number, to report their situation and request assistance.

The rescue operation was swiftly initiated, and the trekkers were successfully located and brought to safety.

The incident highlights the importance of being prepared and aware of one's surroundings while trekking, especially in unfamiliar terrain.

The Panvel hills, located in the Raigad district, are a popular destination for trekking and hiking enthusiasts. However, the area can be challenging to navigate, especially during the night or in low-visibility conditions.
