Fitness Trainer Assaulted in Bandra Road-Rage Incident

A shocking incident of road rage occurred in Bandra West around midnight on Sunday, where a renowned fitness trainer, Arjunjit Garewal, was allegedly assaulted by three unidentified persons.

Garewal, a 39-year-old resident of Juhu, was travelling with his wife, Bhakti, towards Mahim late on Saturday night. As they were driving on S.V. Road near Sahil Hotel, an XUV came in front of their vehicle. Garewal overtook the XUV and continued driving, but the driver of the XUV allegedly became angry and started chasing them.

The XUV driver, who was accompanied by six to seven people, drove parallel to Garewal's car, abused him, and made threatening gestures. Despite the intimidation, Garewal ignored them and continued driving. However, the XUV driver allegedly overtook Garewal's car three to four times before blocking it near Bandra Lake.

One of the occupants of the XUV, who was wearing a white shirt, allegedly got out of the vehicle, abused Garewal, and asked him to step out of his car. When Garewal did so, he was allegedly assaulted with fists and kicks. Two other associates, who arrived on two-wheelers, also allegedly joined the assault.

In a terrifying turn of events, one of the accused tried to hit Garewal with a baseball bat, but he defended himself. Another accused allegedly used a hockey stick to damage the front, rear, and driver-side windows of Garewal's car.

Garewal's frightened wife then got out of the vehicle, following which the accused fled in the XUV. Garewal noted the registration number of the XUV as MH 47 BB 9939 and approached the Bandra police to file a complaint.

A case was registered on Sunday against three unidentified persons under Sections 115(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other relevant provisions. The police are currently investigating the incident and trying to identify the accused.
