MP CM Suspends Katni CSP Over Land Purchase Scam

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered the immediate suspension of Katni City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Neha Pachisia, following a case registration against her for alleged coercion and fraud in a land purchase deal.

The suspension order was issued after a complaint was filed by the Bhopal Vigilance Branch, and an investigation was conducted by the Jabalpur Zone. The land, valued at Rs 82,86,930, was sold for Rs 18,20,000 to one Maruf Ahmed Hanafi. The payment was made through a combination of cheque and cash, with Rs 15 lakh paid by cheque and Rs 3.20 lakh in cash.

The investigation, led by Jabalpur's Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anu Beniwal, found that Hanafi did not have sufficient funds in his bank account to make the purchase. On the day of the registration, Rs 15 lakh were suddenly transferred to his account, with Rs 10 lakh coming from Shine Partners' account and Rs 5 lakh from one Kshitij Raj Barapatre's account.

The investigators also discovered that the bank accounts of both Shine Partners and Barapatre share the same PAN number, and Barapatre is believed to be a close associate, relative, or business partner of CSP Pachisia.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court had recently dismissed CSP Pachisia's petition and denied her interim relief, paving the way for the police department to take strict action against her.
