Two Arrested For Highway Robbery Near Surlakhedi Bridge

A daring robbery on the Agra-Mumbai National Highway near Surlakhedi Bridge in the Kshipra area has led to the arrest of two men by the Indore Rural Police. The incident took place on the intervening night of August 8 on the NH-3 Bypass Road.

The police have identified the arrested suspects as Krish Hokam and Sanjay Bhilala, residents of Shajapur district. The stolen goods included two cars, including the complainant's car, and two mobile phones were also seized from the suspects.

According to the police, the suspects were involved in the robbery and used a car bearing a Chhattisgarh registration number during the crime. The stolen property, a compact SUV and two mobile phones, were later recovered from them.

The complainant, Vinod Raghuwanshi, had stopped at the Surlakhedi bridge to take photos with his three friends when five men in a car reached there and threatened them at knifepoint and thrashed them with an iron rod. Later, they damaged the compact SUV and fled with the car and two mobile phones.

The police started an investigation after receiving information about the incident and examined more than 250 CCTV camera recordings. They also collected technical and physical evidence, which led to the identification and arrest of the two suspects.

Both suspects have criminal records, with Krish having six previous cases registered against him and Sanjay having two cases. They are being questioned to find out whether they were involved in other crimes and whether more people were associated with them.

The action was carried out under the guidance of SP Rajendra Kumar Verma and the supervision of additional SP Raj Krishna and SDOP Sanwer Devendra Singh Dhurve. The Kshipra police station, Mangliya police outpost, and the Indore Rural Cyber Cell played an important role in solving the case.

The arrest of the two suspects has brought relief to the people traveling on the Agra-Mumbai highway, who were worried about the safety of the route. The police are still investigating the case and are trying to find out if there were any other people involved in the robbery.

In a separate incident, the police registered a case against the husband of PWD executive engineer Aarti Yadav, who died due to alleged suicide in the Palasia area. However, this incident is not related to the highway robbery case.
