Bhopal Muslims Celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi With Rallies

On Wednesday, members of the Muslim community in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, carried out rallies to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi, promoting communal harmony and the city's unique cultural heritage, known as Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb.

The processions, which began at 2 pm, were organised from separate locations, including the Mangalwara and Ashoka Garden areas. The rally in the Mangalwara area started from Bharat Talkies in Chhawani and passed through several areas, including Central Library, Itwara, and Islampura, before concluding at Imami Gate Square.

To facilitate the movement of the processions, traffic restrictions and diversions were in place between 1 pm and 8 pm in the Mangalwara area and between 2 pm and 8 pm in the Ashoka Garden area. The traffic police introduced diversions across parts of the old and new city to ensure smooth movement.

The celebrations were attended by several dignitaries, including CM Mohan Yadav, MP Alok Sharma, and Waqf Board Chairman Sanwar Patel. The All India Muslim Tyohar Committee organised the procession, which saw a large number of community members participating. Groups from various akhadas also joined the celebrations, showcasing traditional arts and feats.

The organisers stated that the celebrations aimed to highlight Bhopal's shared cultural heritage while spreading a message of brotherhood and communal harmony. Committee patron Shamshual Hasan Balli said that processions arriving from different locations could converge at Imami Gate for a joint conclusion.

The committee appealed to social and Muslim organisations to participate in the event, stressing that it should remain focused on social and religious harmony without political interference. The committee office-bearers coordinated with the police and district administration, following administrative guidelines for the processions.
