Pune Hotelier Abducts MPSC Aspirant Over Suspected Love Triangle

Pune witnessed a shocking incident of abduction and assault on Thursday when a 28-year-old competitive examination aspirant, Prasad Suryavanshi, was allegedly kidnapped by a hotelier and his associates.

The incident occurred around 12:30 am when Suryavanshi was abducted from the jurisdiction of the Perugate police post in a black Scorpio. Acting swiftly on a 112 emergency call, the police traced the vehicle and intercepted it while the accused were taking Suryavanshi towards Sinhagad Road.

The victim was rescued, and two accused, Sagar Ramesh Borade, 32, a hotelier from Walchandnagar, and Kishor Balasaheb Sawant, 32, a resident of Dasur in Malshiras taluka of Solapur district, were detained around 1:23 am.

According to the police, Borade was angry with Suryavanshi over his alleged communication with a female friend who is also preparing for competitive examinations. Borade and Sawant, along with three other associates, allegedly assaulted Suryavanshi and forcibly took him away in the Scorpio.

The victim was allegedly beaten while the vehicle was being driven towards Sinhagad Road. Suryavanshi claimed that he was studying in the library and came down around 11:45 pm to leave for home when Borade and four others came and started assaulting him.

Suryavanshi stated that he has no relationship with the girl but Borade suspected that he was involved with her. He expressed concern about his life, stating that such incidents can put students under immense trauma.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Krushikesh Rawale said that the incident stemmed from a dispute involving a woman who is also an MPSC aspirant. The woman was known to the victim as well as Borade.

The police response to the 112 emergency call helped in rescuing the victim within an hour. The incident highlights the importance of swift police action in emergency situations.
