The speeding sedan, allegedly driven recklessly by 20-year-old Deepak Chouhan, rammed into the auto-rickshaw from the front, crushing its front portion.
According to ACP Rubina Mizwani, the accident happened near Bhairav Baba Temple. The impact of the collision injured the driver and all three passengers. Locals, enraged by the accident, allegedly assaulted the car driver and vandalised the vehicle before he fled the scene.
Witnesses and local residents gathered at the spot, and a video of the incident later went viral on social media. A First Response Vehicle and a Banganga police team reached the spot, brought the situation under control, and shifted the injured to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
