Bangladesh Reviews Invitation To BRICS Summit

Bangladesh is reviewing an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his counterpart, Tarique Rahman, to attend the upcoming 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.

The relations between the two neighbors deteriorated after the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus came to power, but efforts to stabilize ties began after India was represented at Tarique Rahman's swearing-in ceremony in Dhaka.

In April, Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman visited India in the first high-level visit by a senior member of the new Bangladesh Nationalist Party government, as both sides sought to repair strained relations.
