21 MP Ayurveda Colleges Get Recognition

Twenty-one Ayurveda colleges in Madhya Pradesh have been granted recognition for the 2026-27 academic year. This includes five government Ayurveda colleges and 16 private colleges. The recognition was given by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), New Delhi.

The recognized colleges are located in various cities, including Gwalior, Ujjain, Burhanpur, Rewa, and Bhopal. A total of 370 undergraduate seats across the five government colleges have received recognition. The Pt. Khushilal Sharma Government Ayurveda College, Bhopal, has been granted recognition for 75 undergraduate and 74 postgraduate seats.

However, the government colleges in Indore and Jabalpur are still waiting for recognition. There are a total of 39 Ayurveda colleges in Madhya Pradesh, offering 2,700 BAMS undergraduate seats. The recognition of Ayurveda colleges is regulated and updated continuously by the NCISM.

Dr. Rakesh Pandey, national spokesperson for the AYUSH Medical Association, stated that the recognition was granted according to the list released by the NCISM. The Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Ayurveda College, Bhopal, has also been granted recognition for 100 undergraduate seats.
