BMC Inspects Mumbai Clinics, Hospitals For Rule Violations

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched a special drive to inspect clinics, nursing homes, hospitals, maternity homes, and diagnostic centres in Mumbai for compliance with health, safety, and regulatory norms.

The drive follows directions from the state Health Department for a special inspection drive across Maharashtra. Teams constituted by the civic health department will inspect clinical establishments across the city and take action against those found violating prescribed rules.

The inspections will cover compliance with various regulations, including the Clinical Establishments-related regulations, PCPNDT Act, MTP Act, ART Act, Biomedical Waste Management Rules, fire safety norms, and FDA regulations. Establishments found flouting norms will face action under the relevant laws. The inspection teams will prepare daily progress reports detailing the number of establishments inspected, the number found violating various regulations, and the observations recorded during inspections.
